Privacy Policy

Dosset is a wardrobe app. To do its job it needs to know what clothes you own, and it asks for a few things about you so its suggestions make sense. It is not an advertising business: your wardrobe is not sold, and it is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.

1. Who we are

Dosset ("Dosset", "we", "us") provides the Dosset mobile application and this website at dosset.net. For privacy law purposes we are the data controller for the information described here.

2. What we collect

Account

Your email address, and a password if you create one. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the email address associated with that account and an identifier; we never receive your password for those services. Authentication is handled by Supabase on our behalf.

Your wardrobe

The garments you add and everything you record about them — type, colour, material, fit, pattern, brand, and any notes you write. This is the core of the product and it stays scoped to your account.

Garment photos

If you photograph a garment, that image is stored in private, per-user storage that other users cannot read. Photos may also be sent to Anthropic to recognise what the garment is — see §4.

Profile and preferences

Things you tell us so suggestions fit you: skin tone, style preferences, variety setting, temperature unit, optional body details (height, build, proportions, contrast), and any items or colours you tell us to avoid. During onboarding we also ask for your birth year, which is used only to understand our audience in aggregate — never as an input to styling.

Location

Approximate location — either from your device (with your permission) or a city you type in — so outfits suit the weather. We store the city name and coordinates on your profile and send them to a weather provider. You can change or remove it at any time, and you can decline device location and search manually instead.

What you wear

When you log an outfit, we record the date, the garments, and the weather at the time. This drives your history, laundry counts, and variety in suggestions.

Purchases

If you subscribe, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. We receive a receipt confirming the subscription so we can unlock paid features.

Usage analytics

We record coarse events about how the app is used: that a screen was opened, an outfit generated, an item added. These are deliberately low-detail — categories and counts, not free text about you.

This is controlled by a toggle in the app's Profile screen. To be straightforward about it: that toggle starts switched on, and onboarding tells you so and lets you turn it off there and then. Switch it off at any point and nothing further is recorded. If your local law requires analytics to be off until you actively opt in, tell us at support@dosset.net and we will honour that for your account.

Diagnostics

When the app crashes we collect a technical error report (device model, OS version, and where in the code it failed) so it can be fixed.

Visiting this website

This site is a plain set of pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from anyone else — the fonts and images are served from this domain rather than a third party, so browsing here does not announce your visit to anybody. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the usual server request data (including your IP address) to serve pages and block attacks.

The waitlist

If you enter your email address to request early access, we store that address, the date, which form you used, and the country Cloudflare reports for the request. We do not store your IP address alongside it. It is used for one thing: to write to you when access opens. It is not a newsletter, it is not shared, and you can have it removed at any time by emailing support@dosset.net. The list is held in Cloudflare's key-value storage and is deleted once the app has launched and everyone on it has been invited.

3. Why we use it

• To run the app — hold your wardrobe, generate outfits, track what you wear, sync across your devices.
• To make suggestions relevant — weather, season, your stated preferences and body details.
• To provide written styling notes — see §4.
• To fix and improve things — crash reports, and (with consent) aggregate usage patterns.
• To handle subscriptions — verify a purchase and unlock features.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

4. Photos, outfits, and AI

Two features send data to Anthropic, which provides the AI models we use:

• Garment recognition. A photo you take is sent so the app can suggest the garment's type, colour, and material and save you typing.
• Styling notes. The structured details of an outfit — garment types, colours, formality, the weather — are sent so the app can write a short read of why it works. Your photos are not sent for this; only the structured attributes.

These requests go through our own server so that our API credentials are never in the app. We do not send your email address or account identifiers with them.

4a. The 3D mannequin

The figure that wears your clothes is drawn by Babylon.js, an open-source 3D library published by Microsoft. The app loads that library from Microsoft's content delivery network (cdn.babylonjs.com) when the screen opens, which means your device's IP address and browser details are visible to Microsoft as part of fetching the file. None of your wardrobe, photos, or account information is sent — the request only fetches the library itself, and everything about your clothes is rendered on your own device afterwards.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, for the purposes above:

We may also disclose information if legally required, or in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are used in California law.

6. Where it is held

Our providers are based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there. If you are in the UK, EU, or elsewhere, that means it is transferred internationally; we rely on our providers' standard contractual protections for those transfers.

7. How long we keep it

Your wardrobe, profile, and history are kept for as long as your account exists. Analytics events and crash reports are kept no longer than needed to understand and fix problems. Delete your account and we delete the associated data from our systems, other than anything we must keep by law.

8. Your choices and rights

• Analytics — turn the toggle off in the app's Profile screen at any time.
• Location — decline the device permission, or change/clear the city on your profile.
• Photos — optional throughout; you can add garments without them and delete them with the item.
• Access, correction, export, deletion — most of your data is editable directly in the app. For a copy, a correction you cannot make yourself, or deletion, email support@dosset.net.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

9. Children

Dosset is not intended for children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and older where your country requires it. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Your wardrobe, photos, and profile are protected by per-user access rules enforced by the database, so one account cannot read another's data. Photo storage is private rather than public. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and fix problems promptly.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
